BIG Summer Day Camp 2021

Our mission is to cultivate meaningful experiences for God’s people to be rooted and grow.

What makes this year unique?

After a year of sheltering-in-place, we understand the need for youth to have safe & in-person human interaction. Our program continues to engage youth and families to discover the gift of Jesus’ love and grace through creating various impactful experiences. Some of these experiences include building friendships, small groups, fun & creative activities, “alongside” mentorship, and family-friendly events.

Kids Disciple Groups (KDG)
Kids Disciple Groups (KDG)

Kids Disciple Group (KDG) is a time where we discover more about Christ and ourselves! During KDG, we explore the week’s Bible story and what it means in our lives. By sharing and listening to one another, we build strong community and friendships.

Outdoor Activities
Outdoor Activities

After a year of staying home, we are dedicated to stepping outside for the majority of our activities to have fun, build friendships, and create healthy habits while in a safe space! Bringing our learning outside can stimulate our senses and build stronger connections!

Math Excel
Math Excel

Our teachers focus on the exposure of math concepts that can help prepare for the student’s learning in the upcoming school year. We do not expect our students to solidify these concepts in the short time we have together. Our teachers will incorporate formal learning and hands-on activities to help our campers learn.

Social Interaction
Social Interaction

After year-long isolation, we are turning our focus to the social interaction that we all miss. We want to build a community within our camp and help our campers learn vital social skills.

Camp Details & Cost

Who: K - 6th | Fall 2021 Entering Grade

When: July 6th — July 30th (4 weeks)

**For this year, campers must attend all 4 weeks of camp.

Hours: Monday - Friday | 10AM - 4PM

Where: 2400 Noriega St. & 31st Ave, San Francisco, CA

**All SDC YLC campers will need to receive a negative test 72 hours before the first day of camp.

Curriculum

This year, our theme for SDC is “Treasured”, discovering you’re priceless to God!

One of the Bible points we will be exploring is "God chooses us!" We will be discussing the story of Esther, and how God chose her to save her people. Being chosen feels special, but it can also feel scary. What does He have planned for me? God has chosen us, He has provided a plan and purpose for every one of us!

Schedule

A SCHEDULE (2 TIMES A WEEK):

Math Excel will take place in the morning on A schedules.

B SCHEDULE (2 TIMES A WEEK):

Kids Disciple Groups will take place in the morning on B schedules.

C SCHEDULE (1 TIME EACH WEEK):

C schedules will be our full-day outings. These excursions will take place WITHIN A 5-MILE RADIUS of our facility.

**NOTE: We want to reduce the risk of transmission on public transportation. To prioritize the safety of our campers and staff, we ask that DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP BE AT THE OUTING LOCATION.

**IF YOU HAVE MULTIPLE CHILDREN AT OUR CAMP:

Groups will have C schedules on different days. It is possible that you may need to drop off one child at our facility and your other child at the outing site.

 

Health and Safety

At the time of registration, vaccines are not yet eligible for youth age 15 and under. It is crucial that you and your family adhere to these guidelines and restrictions in order to keep campers and staff safe. Please read and refer to our SDC YLC 2021 Health and Safety Protocol:

Registration & Orientation

Registration will begin on Sunday, April 25th at 12PM.

As a final step to your child’s registration, please be sure to attend the mandatory SDC Parent Zoom Orientation on Saturday, 6/19.
