MEET THE STARBURSTS!

Starbursts are the oldest members consisting of 7th and 8th graders. This is also the age group that diverges into the Young Leaders Camp within Summer Day Camp. Starbursts are prepared to learn and become the leaders of tomorrow. They are trained through difficult challenges that require teamwork, abstract thinking, and getting their hands dirty. This preparation breeds the Starbursts to be diligent. Their willingness to humbly take on tasks and do it with a one hundred percent effort is what will transform the Starbursts from campers to inspirational leaders. Starbursts are the helpers and workers of today, but the mentors, inspirers, and leaders of tomorrow.

My name is Nat Lee, and I'm one of the Team Facilitators for Starbursts.

An artist and aspiring teacher, I currently work at Zion Lutheran School as an Extended Care Assistant. Having attended Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit all my life, I see it as my second home. My hope is to instruct and guide future generations both academically and spiritually. In my spare time, I like to draw, play video games, and watch entirely too much baseball.

Hello everyone!

My name is Angel Huang and I am one of the Team Facilitators for the Starbursts group this year. I am currently attending University of California, Irvine, and studying business administration because I want to open a successful bakery business of my own one day! On my free time, I enjoy baking, hiking, taking photos, or hanging out with my friends. Aside from serving in day camp as a counselor, I had also previously served as a tutor and monitor in Help-U-Learn and this is also how I became involved with the children’s ministry at Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit. Summer is quickly approaching and I’m super happy that I have the opportunity to serve again at summer day camp! This will be my fourth year being a counselor and it has been amazing seeing God transforming and working in the lives of the kids during both the summer and school year. Thank you all for all your support and prayers because I am super excited to see what God has in store for me, the kids, and the entire camp this year.
